Well hello everyone!
It’s been a long time……….looking back we just had our Canadian Thanksgiving, and I posted about that a year ago. Well, it has been a busy time! As most of my friends will know, I am an all out city girl……..OK, suburban girl! Get ready for it……….My husband and I bought a 10 acre farm just outside of Orangeville…………..can you say Green Acres revival or what! We even have the neighbours chickens that visit. I just LOVE the new place……….well sort of……….You will see what I mean in the photo.
We lovingly refer to the new place as our “ugly little duckling”. We didn’t buy the farm for the house, but the designer in me saw the potential. We both fell in love with the 10 acres of beautiful land! I felt my blood pressure drop, and an overwhelming feeling of zen!
So what has kept us busy……….we sold our house in Mississauga, we sold 2 cottages, packed up a big house, stored everything, because we started the reno, which was not expected to be a big reno, but a substantial one………….which turned into a HUGE reno!! And………..wait for it………….we lived in a trailer! see below! yes we did!
I have been taking pictures from the beginning of the project, so there will be lots of ideas that I will be sharing. One thing, I am not affiliated with any one store or website, so don’t worry about having to purchase anything to see the work done.
I have to say, I’m pretty proud of the work we’ve done, but it’s not done yet! I will give you a tidbit of the transformation.
Starting from the outside, we had red brick and a Mansard Roof. That is a roof that comes done the outside walls of the second story of the home. Can you say YUCK! It was my most un-favourite part of the home. I was bound and determined to get rid of that toute suite!
So, I will share with you the before and the after. I will add new posts with the before and after of each of the rooms. At this point, much of the work has been completed, so we are in the house, and enjoying it.
Let me know what you think. I look forward to hearing suggestions and comments.
